In this article we will cover the Eid dua taqabbal which the companions of Allah’s Messenger used to say to each other for congratulations on Eid.
This comes from hadith which was narrated that Jubayr ibn Nufayr who said:
When the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met one another on the day of Eid, they would say to one another: “Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum”.
Taqabbalallahu Minna Wa Minkum Meaning In Malayalam
Al-Haafiz said: Its isnaad is hasan (meaning the chain of narration is good).
Offering congratulations in this way is acceptable , you could also say Eid mubarak. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is nothing wrong with one man saying to another on the day of Eid: Taqabbal Allaahu minna wa mink.
In Arabic The Eid Dua is written:
تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنكُم
Transliteration: Taqaballahu minna wa minkum

- Taqabbal-Allâhu minnâ wa minkum
- Taqaballahu Minna Wa Minkum
Taqaballahu minna Translation:
The meaning behind this dua is “May Allah accept [good deeds] from you and us” or “May Allah accept [this worship] from you and us”.
Reply To Someone Who Says This:
The common reply to someone who says “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum” to you is to respond back with the same, “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum”. You can also say Ameen, or Khair mubarak to you.

#1 – Eidkum Mubarak – This is the general way of sharing greetings with one and another on the day of Eid. It means “Blessed Eid.”
#2 – Eid Saeed – This is considered the same as ‘Eid Mubarak’ and means “Good or Happy Eid”.

#3 - Assakum min awada – Another form of greeting Eid to a person.
#4 – Kullu aam wa antum bikhair – This phrase means “Wishing you well-being every year.”
#5 – Allahum Taqabbal (or) Taqabbal Allah – This means “May Allah accept it.”
#6 - Mina wa min kum – This is usually used in reply to ‘Kul aam wa antum bikhair’. It is also used in reply to blessings which one wishes for another. It means “To me and to you.”
#7 – Barak Allahu feekum (or) Allah Baraka feek/feech/feekum – This is a way of expressing thanks to someone in return of their wishes. “May Allah bless you” is the translation. ‘Allah Baraka feek’ is used for men, ‘Allah Baraka feech’ for women and ‘Allah Baraka feekum’ in general or for a group.
#8 – Shukran – This is a shorter form of saying “Thanks” in return of the greeting.
After one wishes ‘Eid Mubarak’, the reply to it could also be framed in the form of a sentence.
‘Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum wa kullu aam wa antum bikhair’ could be used which means “May Allah accept it from us and you and may you be well every year”.
