Slide2 (formerly “Slide”) is a 2D slope stability program for evaluating the safety factor or probability of failure, of circular and non-circular failure surfaces in soil or rock slopes. Slide2 is simple to use, and yet complex models can be created and analyzed quickly and easily. External loading, groundwater and support can all be modeled in a variety of ways.
Slide2 analyzes the stability of slip surfaces using vertical slice or non-vertical slice limit equilibrium methods like Bishop, Janbu, Spencer, and Sarma, among others. Individual slip surfaces can be analyzed, or search methods can be applied to locate the critical slip surface for a given slope. Users can also carry out deterministic (safety factor) or probabilistic (probability of failure) analyses.

Probabilistic Slope Stability with Slide2
Slide2 also has extensive probabilistic modeling and analysis features. Nearly all model input parameters can be defined as random variables, so that a probability of failure or reliability index may be calculated. Sensitivity Analysis can also be carried out.

Slide is the only slope stability software with built-in finite element groundwater seepage analysis for steady state or transient conditions. Flows, pressures and gradients are calculated based on user defined hydraulic boundary conditions. Seepage analysis is fully integrated with the slope stability analysis or can be used as a standalone module.
Slide has extensive probabilistic analysis capabilities - you may assign statistical distributions to almost any input parameters, including material properties, support properties, loads, and water table location. The probability of failure/reliability index is calculated, and provides an objective measure of the risk of failure associated with a slope design. Sensitivity analysis allows you to determine the effect of individual variables on the safety factor of the slope.
Slide offers no less than 17 different material strength models for rock and soil including Mohr-Coulomb, Anisotropic and Generalized Hoek-Brown. Support types include tieback, end anchored, soil nail, micro pile and geotextile. Back analysis allows you to determine the required support force for a given safety factor. Advanced search algorithms simplify the task of finding the critical slip surface with the lowest safety factor.
